The GreenWay stakeholders are all working very hard to keep the GreenWay on the Government's agenda. As yet we have had no indication from the Minister of why the GreenWay needs to be 'deferred' or why it may delay the light rail project. The GreenWay will enhance the patronage of the light rail by providing safe, easy access to the stops. The Mayors and General Managers from the GreenWay Councils have requested a meeting with Minister to discuss the situation.
I would like to thank the 3500 people who have signed our petition. We need 10,000 to get the GreenWay discussed in parliament, so please keep collecting the signatures.
Thank you for your continued support for the GreenWay
Thank you for everyone who has signed the GreenWay petition- but please keep them coming in. We have almost reached our target of 10,000. If we can collect 10,000 signatures the NSW parliament will debate the GreenWay, and we will have demonstrated overwhelming community support for building the GreenWay. So please download the petition, sign it and get as many people as possible to sign it. Completed petitions should be returned to: Carmel Tebbutt, MP, PO Box 170, Marrickville, NSW 1475.
Parliamentary rules require the petition to be signed by hand, so we can not run this as an electronic petition.
The Reconciliation Walk this coming Sunday promises to be a wonderful celebration of the rich and ongoing legacy left by the Aboriginal people who have been caring for the country of the Cooks River valley for thousands of years. As well it is an opportunity to meet some of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who live in our area today.
Community members are invited to join the walk at any of the following times and places. A council bus will be available at the end of the event to take walkers back to their starting point.
