New bushcare signs installed

altThe GreenWay Sustainability Project is pleased to report that the interpretive Bushcare signs have now been installed at five of the six Bushcare sites in the GreenWay corridor.

The Bushcare signs aim to reflect the diversity of flora and fauna in the GreenWay corridor and communicate the significance of Bushcare sites and the role they play in local biodiversity. The signs should enhance community awareness of local biodiversity and the broader GreenWay.

The Lords Road Bushcare sign will be installed once we have approval from Transport for NSW who ave recommended that we hold off at this site until further notice.

We are also pleased to announce that Deuce Designs has been successfully appointed to work collaboratively with the GreenWay Sustainability Project to develop and install a family of orientation
an interpretive signs along the length of the Iron Cove to the Cooks River GreenWay.

The key objectives of the Project include:

  • Improving the legibility and identity of the corridor to create a sense of place and in turn enable users to feel confident in using and navigating along the GreenWay;
  • Increasing public awareness and appreciation of the natural, cultural and historical values of the
    GreenWay corridor;
  • Improving the visual appearance and identity of the area and create a sense of cohesion and continuity across the length of the corridor;
  • Complimenting the aesthetics of the natural area and surroundings;
  • Interpreting important information about local heritage, cultural and biodiversity values in the corridor;
  • Ensuring that input from key stakeholders (partner Councils and the community) is considered and incorporated throughout the Project

Please refer to the GreenWay website for future updates on this Project.
