The GreenWay Sustainability Project was a $1.83 million project funded by the NSW Environmental Trust focused on working towards the vision of the GreenWay.
The Project was a partnership between Ashfield (lead), Leichhardt, Marrickville and City of Canterbury Councils which started in 2009 and concluded in September 2012.
The GreenWay Sustainability Project had a strong focus on sustainable governance, community engagement and volunteers, active transport (walking & cycling) and urban biodiversity.
Based at Ashfield Council, the Project worked closely with partner Councils, community and state agency stakeholders, including integrating the Project's activities with the Inner West Light Rail Extension.
