The latest editon of our e-newsletter is out now. It's been a big year for the GreenWay, with over $15 million committed to complete the GreenWay Missing Links and the hand-over by Transport NSW of six new bush care sites. Our annual GreenWay Art Exhibition toured to three venues in seven weeks and our schools program continued to expand. You can read all about it here.
A big thank you to all our volunteers for your time and effort invested in GreenWay activities this year, ranging from bush care and cycling advocacy to sustainability education and public art.
Great news with reports today that the endangered baby penguin found in the stromwater drain along the GreenWay has been reunited with its colony on Sydney's northern beaches.
The little penguin who has been named 'Holly' was rescued by the RSPCA at Haberfield and taken to the Taronga Wildlife Hospital where it was treated in intensive care for dehydration and exhaustion.
You can read the full story and see some other gorgeous pictures of Holly here.
Come along on Thursday 15 December at 6pm and celebrate the latest link in the GreenWay to be completed. The Cooks River to Iron Cove GreenWay now has an upgraded shared path and lighting between Marion Street and Parramatta Road, Leichhardt.
Join us for a free sausage sizzle and bike repair station to celebrate the latest 'missing' link to be completed. The upgrade is the first of 11 GreenWay Missing Links to be jointly funded by the state government and Inner West Council. The Missing Links are due to be completed by 2020. Click here for details.
