The Mayor of Ashfield Council, the Lead Council for the GreenWay Program, Lucille McKenna OAM today welcomed reports that the State Government is committed to providing funding to help complete the GreenWay Missing Links. Mayor McKenna said she was committed to working with neighbouring Council’s to provide the collaborative funding required to see the GreenWay vision become a reality.
The operators of the Light Rail, Transdev are encouraging young people to take part in a coluring-in competition in support of the research project on the Inner West Long-Nosed Bandicoot being funded by Transport for NSW. The Office of Environment and Heritage is undertaking surveys to determine the extent of the population, using radio tracking to monitor habitat use and is also undertaking a community awareness program to increase knowledge of the species.
